In-store attract loops are tricky. You’re competing side-by-side with your rivals for customer attention. When Google Retail asked Media.Monks to reimagine the attract loop and demo app for all 3P Chromebooks scheduled to launch in 2022, success depended on a smart mix of creativity and science.

Based on early A/B testing, we knew that an illustrated style would appeal most to our target audience. With no file size limitations to worry about, we took the opportunity to go beyond the expected with animated 3D illustration.

From there, we developed a concept that would stand out even further. The final Rube Goldberg-inspired animations drew shoppers deep inside the world of Chromebook—and kept them there..
