COVID-19 Booster & Flu Vax Virtual Helper

Media.Monks teamed up with Google Creative Works and the U.K. NHS Office of Health Improvement & Disparities to build a Winter Vaccine Virtual Helper. The chatbot explained the benefits of getting the Covid-19 Booster and flu vaccines and how to make an appointment.

Challenge

Our goal was to increase vaccination uptake by inspiring urgency and countering misinformation. We framed vax facts as common sense and directed eligible users to book an appointment. With eligibility guidelines changing daily, we had to make the script flexible and easy to update live.

Approach

The NHS is highly popular in the UK. People trust the NHS as a reliable source for medical information. We chose an approachable and sensible tone, steering clear of fear or shame-based language that could alienate our target demographic.

 

We used the chatbot as a tool to drive users to the NHS website for more details about booking an appointment. To provide actionable information, while preserving a conversational tone, we applied bullet points and plain speech.
